My kids love this method because they can make it completely on their own-no need for me to come help them carry the heavy pot of water from the stove to the sink to drain it. In the Instant Pot, combine dried macaroni, water, and salt. We initially developed this recipe with kids in mind. Do a quick pressure release when time is up, turn IP off. (3 minutes if you prefer noodles on the softer side) Lock lid on and close pressure valve. Step 5: Add the butter, and stir in until melted. Step 4: Unlock the lid, and give the pasta a good stir. Step 3: When the cooking time has finished, carefully do a controlled pressure release to release the pressure. Put your Instant Pot or pressure cooker on manual, high pressure, for 2 minutes. Press manual high pressure and adjust the time to 3 minutes. Back then, we were surprised to see it become one of the most commented-on recipes in the cookbook: “Since boxed mac and cheese cooks on the stove in about the same amount of time, why make it in the Instant Pot?” Add your water, macaroni noodles, and salt. We originally included a Shortcut Mac & Cheese recipe in our cookbook in 2017. Add the pancetta, and sauté for a few minutes, until it crisps up on all sides. Why make Macaroni and Cheese in an Instant Pot? Turn your multi-cooker on to its sauté setting (if your cooker has a timer component, set it to 15 minutes just to be safe, then hit cancel when you switch to pressure cooking mode) and add 1 tablespoon of butter. ![]()
